Smith Wigglesworth's Quotes

"Great faith is the product of great fights"

"Great testimonies are the outcome of great tests"

"Great triumphs can only come out of great trials"

Smith Wigglesworth was a legendary evangelist who dramatically changed the world with his passionate messages. Smith Wigglesworth is considered the pioneer of the modern Pentecostal faith. Raising the dead was only one amazing facet of Smith Wigglesworth's ministry. This great apostle of faith walked in such an astounding measure of God's anointing, that miracles in his ministry were second to his message. In his lifetime, Smith Wigglesworth gave new meaning to the word "adventure." Adventure's only requirement? - "Only believe!"

Spurgeon's Quotes on TRUTH

from www.spurgeon.us

Better in the abyss of truth than on the summit of falsehood. BA22

The line of truth is narrow as a razor’s edge. BA280

The safest truth is the simplest. BA281

I question whether truth has not generally to be with the minority, and whether it is not quite as honourable to serve God with two or three as it would be with two or three millions. WWi111

Long ago I ceased to count heads. Truth is usually in the minority in this evil world. 1987.575

False doctrines cannot be proved, and you need not make the attempt. It is only the truth which is capable of proof. 2014.160

A man’s mind is rich very much in proportion to the truth he knows. 2415.253

Some people say, “Why, you are in such a small minority!” Yes, yes; but as a general rule minorities are right. Up until now, the majority has never been on the side of Christ, the majority has never been for God, the majority has never been with the truth. 2429.424

There is a cost to contending for the faith; one will never win a popularity contest. Why is it necessary today? Because false theologies and teachers with skewed theology are so admired! Wolves in sheep’s clothing have slowly crept into the church. Bad theology worsened but little by little. Because it didn’t happen overnight, many did not notice. Church leaders “widened the door.” In other words, they furthered the issue with weak preaching and targeting the unsaved rather than feeding true believers eager to grow.

Church members began to speak up but what happened? I have heard of the many who were lectured, asked to leave, called troublemakers and divisive. Unity has become all-important. But how can true believers be united around false or weak preaching and teaching? Solid Christians are being told that they must be tolerant for the sake of unity. Yes, the Bible told us a day was coming when people would not give heed to sound doctrine (II Timothy 2:3, 4). People would want their ears tickled. New ways of doing church today do just that. But following the biblical example, Paul still told Timothy to “preach the Word,” and not “tickle the ears”. By Jan Markell www.olivetreeviews.org

Aletheia en Agape ( Truth in Love )

It is written in Acts 20:28-33 that we as His flock need to be seriously aware of grievous wolves amongst us. Ezekiel 33:1-7 clearly instructs us to be watchmen. We are not only to hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering ( Hebrews 10 :22-25), but we should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3).

Therefore, do not be ignorant of the enemy's devices, Hosea 4:6 warns of the serious consequences. We are call to totally rely on the Word of God as our only plumb-line of life, as it is written in 2Timothy 3:16, the Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do? Speak truth in love ... Aletheia en Agape.

Sola scriptura (Latin ablative, "by scripture alone"), we assert that the Bible is; God's written word, self-authenticating, clear (perspicuous) to the rational reader, its own interpreter ("Scripture interprets Scripture") & sufficient of itself to be the only source of Christian doctrine.
